Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is the Town's primary sponsored event. It is held in early Fall, generally in the end of October, every year. This year the festival is scheduled for October 26, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is located in downtown Pittsboro generally in the area of Hanks and Credle Street which are closed for the festival. The festival features local arts and crafts, live bands, children's activities and games, food concession, and various booths highlighting the local community groups and clubs. The festival is one of the few opportunities the Town as a community gets together to have some fun, see and be seen. The festival is well attended and a great place to see some smiling faces.

Christmas Parade

The other regularly sponsored Town event is the Christmas parade. This years parade will be held December 2, 2007,  starting at 3:00P.M. The parade features local middle and high school bands, community and civic group sponsored floats, antique cars, antique tractors, and local personalities like the ‘Chicken Man' throwing candy and generally entertaining the crowd. The parade is finalized with Santa Claus bringing up the rear. The parade route starts at the Food Lion Shopping Center and travels west down Hwy 64 past the courthouse. All the children go home with a bag full of candy and what looks like a permanent smile on their faces. It's a great way to kick off the Christmas season.
